One option for getting sick, dying or dead bees diagnosed is sending them to the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Bee Research Lab in Beltsville, MD. This is a free service to beekeepers in the United States. Particularly if you suspect Amercian Foulbrood, it is good to have a lab verify what you are seeing. Instructions for how to submit a sample to the lab in Maryland are detailed here. We can also submit samples to Oregon State University where they know and love us!
